To bring about agricultural transformation by developing block level self sustaining agribusiness centres, which could function as nodal growth bodies, providing farmers high quality agri –inputs, IT based information, training and facilitation, appropriate technologies, backward & forward linkages and promoting allied income generating farm based activities, and thus promoting agri-entrepreneurship and building more prosperous rural community

CARD team has gained a profound understanding out of its long association with farmers throughout the country and with agencies, organizations and policy makers involved with the agriculture industry and rural development sector. The team has been working extensively to empower rural masses of the country with knowledge and the idea to increase farm productivity and create value chain in agriculture. The organization offers both technical know how as well as delivery of services in the rural sector and has been a pioneer in launching many programs and new initiatives for the development of the sector.

For the project, CARD has already identified seven districts in UP under 150 kms radius area from Lucknow, which includes the districts of Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Sultanpur and Raibarielly. Each of these districts on an average have got 18 blocks (approx.), each block has got 90-100 villages (approx.). Thus under this project CARD is reaching out to 121 blocks, 12770 villages and 60,500 farmers in the first year, by registering 500 farmers under each Centre. The project has already been announced, District Project Managers appointed, agreements with agriculture graduates signed and the initial work started in all the seven districts

Thus the approach is to facilitate rural development by involving farmers and rural youths on a more comprehensive basis so as to effectively address strategic and policy issues constraining Agriculture and rural empowerment and mobilizing and strengthening existing structure, institutions and expertise in the sector. This team is continuously supported by the CARD project team at Head office based in Delhi, external resources persons identified to deliver effective training in the identified areas, and guided by the State technical experts as well as internal resource team.

Though the centers have been designed not to be funding based rather to be based on self sustainable business model through various income generating activities under the project financing from a bank in the name of Agriculture graduate, who would become part of CARD network and be designated as Centre Manager. But CARD is initiating dialogues with the Government, corporates and various funding bodies for the support under extension, rural development and Corporate Social Responsibility. The project envisages to optimally utilize this fund to facilitate the process of strengthening these centers to effectively deliver.
